“I’m a mom of two wonderful girls, Seleste 5 years and Aurora 5 months. We live in a small town in rural Texas.
I’ve been drawing and doodling comics for years and the context of that has changed as my life has changed, I’m currently a wife and mother so that’s where I get my inspiration from. This one came from a lack of sleep and the feeling of being spread a little too thin, something all moms can relate to.
This past weekend I was having a hard time finding the words (probably because I haven’t had any sleep) to express to my husband, Kris, why I’m not in the best of moods first thing in the morning. So, I sat down with my coffee and drew him this visual…
I never expected it to get this much attention I really just shared it to give some moms a good laugh. But the response has been amazing! My husband Kris has always thought my stuff was kinda funny but I think he was just as surprised as I was that it went viral!
I’m overwhelmed with how much love and encouragement surrounds this thing. I think it’s opened up a lot of doors not just for my family but for some great discussion into the supportive role that dad’s play and how moms can support and encourage other moms. Hey if you can’t laugh you cry, putting a humorous spin on serious situations can make a big difference sometimes.”
