“I’ll be honest. I give stuff entirely too much thought. You’re about to see firsthand what I am talking about. And I’m sure to some it’s a huge downfall of mine. Also, and unfortunately, I think it’s wearing off on this one and here’s the result.

We tired. We real tired. And sometimes it’s just exhausting. We want everything to have meaning and purpose. We need all of the background. All. Of. The. Details. We want to know why or why not. We want all of the answers to all of the things. Music is hard for our kind of people. It can give us life, but it cannot lie to us. We can’t handle it. We lose our minds.

Minutes before this nap, we heard some lyrics to a song that stated that love will lie to you, and he just couldn’t deal. He bowed up and said, ‘That’s not true! It’s not true! Love doesn’t lie to us.’ To which his brothers were like, ‘sweet Jesus! Please no! It’s just a song!!’

So we talked. We talked about love and what love looks like and what it doesn’t look like. We talked about expectations. We talked about what the Bible says about love. We really dug deep about whether love lies to us or not. We needed to know.

We think, our perception of what we thought love was will lie to us. We also think that it was never love if it’s lying. The problem is not love. Love is patient. It’s kind. It’s not jealous. It does not seek self-satisfaction. It is not proud, and it certainly does not humiliate or dishonor people. Love always protects, always trusts, and always hopes.

So, we’ve concluded that love does not lie. You’re welcome.

Side note… Love hard. Love well. Love even when you don’t think they deserve it. Love more. You won’t regret it. We promise.”
