‘To the men giving their wives all they’ve got, it’s not enough.’: Wife urges ‘there’s not enough time’ for intimacy after daily chaos, ‘I get it, you’re tired’

More Stories like:

“To the men giving their wives and marriages all that they’ve got, just know it’s not enough.

Because, truthfully, all you’ve got left to give at the end of a long workday is not a lot.

And, I get it — you’re tired.

You are mentally exhausted, physically tasked-out, and your rambunctious, overly-excitable, slightly sleep-deprived kids are dying (and fighting) for your attention and affection.

And there’s always an end of the day home task to tackle like a broken appliance, a non-working WiFi or bills that must be paid.

Your work is never done, and then here is your wife, wanting all that you have got left.

And it’s just not enough.

There’s not enough kissing.
There’s not enough touching.
There’s not enough deep conversation.

Because, well, there’s not enough time for all that.

And, so, it falls by the wayside.

But, you’ve got to make the time; somehow, some way.

Because that wife of yours, she’s giving you and the marriage all she’s got.

And, just like you, she knows it’s not enough.

Because, truthfully, all she has got left to give at the end of a long day working or at home with kids, or both — it is not a lot.

And, you get it — she’s tired.

She is mentally exhausted, physically tasked-out, and your rambunctious, overly-excitable, but depleted from a long day at school kids are relentlessly vying (and sometimes literally pushing) for her attention and affection.

And there’s always an end of the day home task to tackle like freakin’ laundry, checking folders and reviewing homework, catching up on missed emails and appointment reminders, and updating her calendar.

Her work is never done, and then here you are, wanting all she’s got left, and it’s just not enough.

There’s not enough kissing.
There’s not enough touching.
There’s not enough deep conversation.

Because, well, there’s not enough time for all that.

But, you’ve got to make the time; somehow, some way.

‘Cause here’s the thing about relationships —

Even if you give each other all you’ve got, it still may not be enough. But, if you both pay enough attention to all that you’ve got, like your love-filled home, your good health, your steady faith, your ridiculously supportive family, your friendship with one another, and those unbelievable children the two of you so nervously, but mindfully raised – all that combined just might be.

To the men giving their wives and marriages all they’ve got, and to all of the women giving their husbands and marriages all that they’ve got, just know it’s not enough.

And, it may never feel like enough.

But how freakin’ awesome that you two courageous creatures get to spend your whole life together reminding one another that each of you is…

ENOUGH.

You always have been, and you always will be.”
